My art represents an artistic journey that has been on-going for more than thirty-five years with help and encouragement from many wonderful artists along the way.
Years of plein-air painting experience, hopefully, reflect the depth of my absorption in the wonder and beauty of the world around me. A change to watercolour, when an acquired allergy prevented me from further painting in oils, taught me that I must never stop looking for better ways to express my feelings in art and that struggling to more fully understand myself is integral to painting itself: a philosophy that was part of every workshop I taught.
Using plein air paintings for reference, I paint larger works in acrylic in my studio allowing each painting to speak to me as I interpret and develop abstract concepts that produce a sense of spirituality that I feel in my work.
Each painting is signed and catalogued when I feel it reflects my interpretation to the best of my ability.
