Fall Palette Knife Workshop

October 19 or 20

Two Fall Palette Knife Workshops will be held - Friday, October 19, 9-noon OR Saturday, October 20, 1-4 p.m., at the Manotick Community Centre Activity Room (upstairs), 5572 Dr. Leach Dr., Manotick, with local artist, Jacky MacDonald.

Learn palette knife techniques with an emphasis on mixing colour, light and shadow (cool and warm shadows) and painting using primary colours.

Bring your own easel, acrylic or oil paints, canvas, and inspiration. Work collectively from a common picture/photo, or bring your own.

Jacky is a local artist and former MAA member.  Having studied the works of the Great Masters on display in the museums of Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin and Madrid, Jack studied fashion design with Richard Robinson, taught at Algonquin Collect and the Ottawa Board of Education. In 2015 Jacky’s design, The Autumn Express, was chosen by the Royal Canadian Mint for the $20 silver coin. Jacky works predominantly in oils, but has recently begun to experiment with acrylics.  Today Jacky’s paintings are in a growing number of private and corporate collections, and on display at a number of galleries across Canada, including Koyman Galleries.
