My artistic development began early. I enjoyed designing and making clothes. My garden provided further design and creating opportunities. Colour, form and symmetry or asymmetry were fun to play with. I experimented with a wide variety of art mediums, from dry pastels to acrylic and everything in between. I now paint mostly with acrylic, but enjoy using watercolour and alcohol inks when appropriate. My progress as an artist provided opportunities to paint a wide range of subjects. I have settled on mostly landscapes, however I do get drawn back to other subjects. Workshops and courses help me improve techniques as well as meeting and learning from other artists along the way. Mentorship from Ann Gruchy in her open studio has been my primary motivator and I am very grateful to her for her encouragement.
