Janie Jaehyun Park is a Korean Canadian visual artist based in Ottawa.

Her stylized representational paintings reflect her state of mind, inspired by captivating moments immersing herself in their stories.  Janie’s work features rich, vibrant colours or a strong focal point with a restrained palette, always accompanied by striking compositions.

Janie has also been presenting distinctive collages made from Hanji, Korean traditional handmade paper.  These works showcase her artistry and heritage.  From a young age, Janie was charmed by the unique characters of Hanji, cutting by water outlines and shaping it with the soft fibre edges.  Inspired by organic motifs and earthy hues of Korean traditional quilts, her creations celebrate the harmonious beauty of individual pieces coming together within the whole.
